“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” – Hellen Keller

Founded with the belief that by leveraging the collective powers of our agents, staff, clients, and fellow community members we can make a difference in the communities we serve, the newly established Coldwell Banker Island Properties Foundation kicked off fundraising events with a statewide food drive that proved a resounding success.

Throughout the month of March, the Coldwell Banker Island Properties Foundation along with our community partners bound together to collect over 2,000 lbs. of food and over $4,000 in cash donations. Combined, these contributions will benefit over 1,000 families who currently experience food insecurity across Hawaii. Recipients of the food drive included the Maui Food BankThe Food Basket on Hawaii Island, and the Kauai Independent Food Bank.

Leveraging the statewide presence of Coldwell Banker Island Properties, the team placed collection boxes in each of our 14 offices located on the islands of Maui, Hawaii Island, and Kauai. Throughout the month participants filled donation boxes with non-perishables ranging from SPAM, pasta, rice, and various canned goods. In addition, special partnerships with the Rotary Club of Maui and Coldwell Banker Island Vacations amplified our outreach efforts. Rotary members graciously filled nearby neighborhood donation bins while guests of CB Island Vacations were invited to leave any used food in their vacation rental for collection.

As we reflect on the successes of our first food drive, we are extremely grateful for the support of all who participated. Whether it was one can of food or $1, every donation went directly toward making a difference. By working together, it is incredible what we can achieve, and we look forward to supporting our community even more in the coming months.

In Loving Memory of Mark Harbison

The Coldwell Banker Island Properties Foundation food drive was hosted in honor of Mark Harbison, who passed last December. Mark was a longtime agent with Coldwell Banker Island Properties on Maui.

Mark was an incredible individual who gave selflessly to those around him. Most notably, Mark served as the president of the Maui Food Bank for 10 years including during the COVID pandemic. He also served as the president of the Kihei-Wailea Rotary Club and the Rotary District 5000 (Hawaii) Youth Exchange Coordinator. To say Mark made a difference in the community is an understatement.
